Have you spent a day outside your home, without hearing the word fashion? I doubt it. Fashion is a word that we use everyday and something we deal with everyday of our life. You may say that you have nothing to do fashion, may not even care about fashion and don't dress to make a statement, but in fact you are making a statement about fashion. In our modern way of living, people wake up and wondering what they are going to wear for that day. Fashion may be considered to be an accepted day-to-day way of dressing at a given time. Fashion is a term commonly used to describe a style of clothing worn by most style conscious people of a country. Even if you don't care about fashions in your personal life, or do not care a lot about what you wear day-to-day you come across fashion every day. It's a fact that most people pay attention to fashion in small ways, which probably is the best way to approach it. Fashion is ever changing; it is the total outlook of an individual of today and only for today and it may be something else tomorrow. Generally a fashion usually remains popular for about 1-2 years and in time will be replaced by yet another fashion.

Fashion goes through continuous changes. Change is the most important characteristic of the fashion world. Though fashion may evolve and some styles come back, it only applies for the time being. Not everyone is quick to embrace the change in fashions. As the fashion changes many do not easily except the changes and stick to the old habits and trends. The media around us have great influence on fashion. Everyday we are constantly being bombarded with new fashion ideas from music, videos, books, and television. Fashion may have nothing to do with good taste and is beyond such practical considerations. With passage of time a fashion may change to custom. For example a clothing style may be introduced as a fashion, but overtime its use becomes a custom after being handed down from generation to generation. Movies have a great impact on what people wear and how people act. What we wear is an imaginary representation of what we want the world to see. Fashion exists to provide information about ourselves, who we think we are and who we aspire to be.
