Twelve by Twelve

Twelve by Twelve
From left to right: Chic chiffon bubble dress ($24), Vintage lace top w/ back ($34), Mod sequined knit dress ($36)

For some reason I was under the impression that Forever 21's Twelve by Twelve was going to be hideously expensive. But when I checked out the site today, I was pleasantly surprised! Nothing is too unreasonable, and if we're lucky, the quality will be good, too. I like the descriptions of the categories that the clothes are broken up into, and I like a lot of the clothes themselves. Let me know what the clothes are like if you ever see them in person!

The Sissi Rossi Multi Zipper Shopping Bag

The Sissi Rossi Multi Zipper Shopping Bag
One of the latest bags by Sissi Rossi, that I'm totally in love with, is the slouchy multi zipper tote in the grey color. It's also available in black, but if you’re like me and wear so much black when fall / winter rolls around then this is a great substitute for that basic black tote.

The bag is dressed in a supple washed-leather with minimal brass hardware and features not just one, but three roomy extra-large separate compartments. There is one main section when you open the bag (no zipper) that is a perfect size for your school or work needs like a laptop, notebook and folders. There is also two large zipper protected sections located at the front and back, ideal for your phone, keys, wallet, and cosmetic case. Basically anything that you don't want to get lost under your notebooks and folders.

Like most designer purses, it comes with a dust bag. But I'm sure if you had this bag you it would never see that dark corner of your closet. Well for this season that is or until you find a new love.

Discover the Sissi Rossi Multi Zipper Shopping Bag
Price: $1,025

How consumers miscalculate sale prices

How consumers miscalculate sale prices
Quick: Youre walking by a store window and you see a sign that says, 20% off the original price plus an additional 25% off the already reduced sale price. So, how much is the discount" Consumers often mistakenly think the total discount is 45% off the original price when, in fact, the true discount is 40%. A thought-provoking new study from the recent issue of the Journal of Consumer Research explores why consumers frequently think a double discount is a better deal than a single discount of the same total magnitude.

Retailers frequently use the strategy of double discounts for their regular promotions or to induce customers to open a credit card account with them. Such errors in peoples judgments of the net effect of multiple price discounts. have implications for a variety of marketing settings including advertising, promotion, pricing, and public policy, write Haipeng (Allan) Chen (University of Miami) and Akshay R. Rao (University of Minnesota).

Previous studies have shown that even math teachers frequently have trouble calculating percentages. In the first experiment, the scientists observed that 59 percent of the respondents students at a large university erroneously added the two percentages to calculate the overall discount. Only 26 percent of students got the answer right.........

Unique Sweater Dresses!

Unique Sweater Dresses!
Plain sweater dresses are easy to find. They're in pretty much every store this year, and I fully intend on picking up a few of them for the fall/winter. But interesting ones? They're not so common. That's why I'm thrilled that Lulu's Fashion Lounge just got in three unique, colorful sweater dresses!

Cutest sweater dress EVER. Seriously, I love it. Adorable

Pretty, no? I'm lovin' those colors!

The most unique of the bunch, I'd say. At first, I didn't like it, but it's kinda growing on me....

Okay, so the fact that the dresses don't have long sleeves is kinda impractical (Does anyone else find it annoying that so many fall items have short sleeves this year?), but they're so cute and fun I'm having trouble caring. And at $43, they're priced pretty reasonably.

My only concern? How can I keep from buying all three?!

The trail for any hiker

The trail for any hiker
If you appreciate the great outdoors, then you probably want to keep it just as lush and beautiful for every generation to come. It's not a big leap from tree-lover to tree-hugger, and REI is really making a concerted effort to help outdoor enthusiasts preserve the wildlife they love so much.

REI has announced a new labeling strategy to help you make better decisions when picking your outdoor apparel. The new "EcoSensitive" labels are intended to make lines made with totally green practices - from materials used to methods of getting it in your hands - much more obvious and easy to pick out.

Although REI has always tried to make eco-friendly outdoor apparel, they have started making such apparel their main mission. Not only will they have more EcoSensitive products in the coming seasons, but REI is also collaborating with dozens of brands and supply chain partners in an industry-wide initiative to standardize and share information on eco-friendly and organic apparel.

REI has also released its first Stewardship Report, detailing how it conducts business, and everything the company is trying to do for the community and their consumers - including community development donations.

Hello, Beautiful

Hello, Beautiful
If I owned this Christian Lacroix for La Redoute trench coat (I prefer the red, but I'm not picky), I would wear it all the time. On the occasional nights that I didn't sleep in it, I would hang it up on my bedpost so that it would be the first thing I laid eyes on upon awakening. And in the morning, I would smile at it and say, "Hello, beautiful."

You think I'm crazy. But look at that coat! It's almost better than chocolate. Which, for me, is saying a LOT.
